Admission
Enrollment will be competitive and limited to those candidates who
have met all of the admission standards of The University of Alabama
Graduate School and the graduate faculty selection criteria.
Admission decisions are made by the Graduate School based on a composite
of qualitative and quantitative information, including the applicant’s
statement of purpose and letters of recommendation, the academic
standing of the programs in which the applicant has studied, relevant
professional activities and achievements, admissions test scores,
previous grades, and the recommendation of the faculty in the area
to which the applicant is seeking admission. Each application is
considered in the context of other applications to the same area,
with due consideration given to the availability of space in the
program, the need to maintain a pool of students of superior potential,
and the diversity goals of the program. Not every student whose
credentials meet stated qualitative standards is admitted.
Prospective students are encouraged to apply to The University of
Alabama Graduate School for either a Master of Arts in Human Performance
with an emphasis in Sport Management or a Master of Science in General
Studies in HES with an emphasis in Sport Management. To assist in
facilitating a quality learning experience, the planned enrollment
for the Sport Management emphasis will
be capped at 40 graduate students, with no more than 20 graduate
students admitted per academic year. As determined by the Sport
Management faculty, ten (10) slots will be available each year in
the Master of Arts in Human Performance Studies, and ten (10) slots
will be available in the Master of Science, General Studies in HES.
ALL APPLICANTS must submit an admissions test score
